LEGO® - Fully automated train level crossing - motorized with Lego's "Powered up"-System
Building Instructions for a similar set can be found here:

The drive is almost the same so you can easily modify by yourself.
Because Lego never sold an electrified train level crossing since 1985 again I decided to build my own. Inspired by a design from Mimi68 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_Kz2Z2sRmI&list=PLeexl59EXW1Z3mYH64aZHAFY24L5mc4_i) made with the Lego digital designer (LDD) I tried to build my own level crossing.
The whole thing is very massive and is about two bicks high between the base plates an the top plates. All the technical things (like gears and axles etc.) are hidden in the underground. It´s motorized by 2 Powered up motors (M-Size). One is for the turning signals the other one for the barriers. The turning signals were often seen on Austrian train level crossings back in the 70s and 80s which I really loved when I was a little child.
The motors are connected to a Powered up bluetooth battery box. Another bluetooth hub is connected to an Powered up light sensor which I used as a light barrier. If a train crosses the light barrier the level crossing starts to work. For controlling the bluetooth hubs I´m using a program called "The Brick Automation Project" by Vincent Vergonjeanne.
