ROYALTON NEGRIL, JAMAICA WAS FABULOUS!
We have been having travel withdrawals during this pandemic! Although I was skeptical about the airport and airplane I was ecstatic about the trip to Jamaica. We selected Jamaica because of the strict Covid testing protocol for entry! To say I felt a sense of relief upon arrival was an understatement. EVERYONE WE ENCOUNTERED HAD ON A MASK. Cleaning stations and temperature checks were consistent. They even have a person posted at the counter to clean after each person leave and before a new person approach. Your bags are even sprayed before you retrieve them.
We paid for Club Mobay because we didn’t want to stand in the lines at customs and to be honest I LOVE THE VIP TREATMENT. This service isn’t needed because currently there isn’t as many travelers. Another concern was not having private transportation. Don’t worry the capacity is limited for your safety and they are only allowed to transport tourist.
Once we arrived at the Hideaway (Stayed in a Royalton room Hideaway temp closed during Covid) desk we were immediately whisked off to the Diamond Club Check in. You must wear a mask to approach them. Everyone is courteous, efficient, knowledgeable and adhere to Covid protocols.
Our room looked and smelled crisp and clean. The 20 plus bottles of cleaner, disinfect and wipes really weren’t needed! We were Blessed to have a Butler so we didn’t have issues with lines for dinner reservations. The FOOD was DELICIOUS! The buffet was open for each meal service. They serve you and you must wear a mask to approach counters to retrieve your food. (Oxtails, steak, seafood and chicken daily) Poolside we had 2 food trucks the Jerk Hut had the Best Jerk Pork I ever tasted. The other truck had the best loaded nachos with shrimp!!!! I can’t leave out the Italian restaurant JERK CHICKEN PIZZA PERIOD! You actually get an entire freshly made pizza! But the Italian/Jamaican dinner menu was hands down the best I ever tasted. Room service menu was great. The chicken strips are fresh not frozen nuggets.
For drinks the MARTINI BAR and MARTINI BAR IJS!
Our housekeeper was FABULOUS! You had to request cleaning to minimize personal contact with your room and personal belongings. She advised us we could not be in the room during cleaning. She was always masked and gloved! I felt bad because it was SO HOT! Once we returned from an excursion she was cleaning politely she informed us we had to stand on the balcony until she was complete.
