USA: Gary Cooper's 'insane' 1935 Duesenberg SSJ goes up for auction

The 1935 Duesenberg SSJ owned by American actor Gary Cooper is set to fetch $10 million (€ 8.6 million) at the Monterey's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 2018 car event.

This car is one of only two Duesenberg SSJs ever existed, with the second one owned by Cooper's Hollywood colleague Clark Gable.

Tyler Gagnon from a car auction company Gooding & Company described the uniqueness of the car: "It has very short chassis, it has a super charged Duesenberg modern J engine, with 400-Horse which is insane for 1935. It was the fastest car of its day, the fastest production car you could get available."

Monterey Car Week 2018 runs from August 18 to August 26.
