Volvo Penta 2002 marine diesel valve clearance adjustment
Volvo recommends adjusting valve clearance on this engine every 50 hours of operation. The Service Manual specifies a clearance of 0.012 inches (0.305 mm) with the engine warm. You need a 1/2 inch and 13 mm wrench, a 24 mm or 15/16 inch socket, a stubby 1/4 inch blade screwdriver and 0.012 inch feeler gauge. Expendable parts are the valve cover gasket and bolt bushings.
