The Poetry Center presents four poets whose works address ideas of justice, global climate crisis, and the effects of colonialism and racial capitalism.
Ed Roberson is author most recently of Asked What Has Changed (Wesleyan) and the forthcoming MPH and Other Road Poems (Verge). He is emeritus professor at Northwestern University.
Tiffany Higgins, 2022 Fulbright scholar to Brazil’s Amazon, writes on Brazil and environment. Besides translating from Portuguese, she is author of And Aeneas Stares into Her Helmet, and The Apparition at Fort Bragg.
White, disabled, and genderqueer, Eli Clare has written two books of creative non-fiction, the award-winning Brilliant Imperfection: Grappling with Cure (Duke), and Exile and Pride: Disability, Queerness, and Liberation, and a collection of poetry, The Marrow’s Telling: Words in Motion.
Lehua M. Taitano is a queer CHamoru writer and interdisciplinary artist from Yigu, Guåhan (Guam). Co-founder of Art 25: Art in the Twenty-fifth Century, she’s author of Inside Me an Island and A Bell Made of Stones.
