M.N.Roy was the first proposed the idea of a Constituent Assembly for India in 1934.

Dr.Sachchidananda Sinha was elected as temporary President of constituent assembly.

Later Dr.Rajendra Prasad elected as President of India and H.C.Mukherjee & V.T.Krishnamachari were elected as Vice President’s of India.

Congress won 208 seats and Muslim league won 73 seats & others 15 in elections of constituent assembly.

Constituent assembly adopted National Flag on July 22,1947.

S.N.Mukherjee was Chief Draftsman of Indian Constitution.

Constituent assembly had 11 sessions.First meeting on Dec 09,1946 and 11th meeting on 14th Nov 1949.
