Zorba the Greek : 12 Rules for Life

Zorba the Greek,12 rules for life. Philosophy for life from Alexis Zorba the title character from the story by Nikos Kazantzakis

Some rules are plainly explicit, others may be implied and are open to your own personal interpretation.
1 I have no need to reflect.I don't rejoice over the good and don;t despair over the bad

2 Everything's simple in the world. So don't go and complicate things!

3 I didn't come into this world to be a horse, or an ox. Only animals live to eat

4 The day's for working,Daytime is a man.The night-time's for enjoying yourself. Night is a woman. You mustn't mix them up!

5 Clever people and grocers, they weigh everything

6 A man needs a little madness or else - he never dares cut the rope and be free
.
7 Tell me what you do with the food you eat, and I'll tell you what you are. Some turn their food into fat and manure, some into work and good humor, and others, I'm told, into God.

8 man is a brute.... If you're cruel to him, he respects and fears you. If you're kind to him, he plucks your eyes out.

9 You can knock on a deaf man's door forever

10 Do things properly by God! One good knock for each nail and you'll win through! God hates a halfdevil ten times more than an archdevil!

11 Life is trouble. Only death is not. To be alive is to undo your belt and look for trouble

12 I believe in Zorba because he’s the only being I have in my power, the only one I know. All the rest are ghosts
