N-Tier Architecture Explained | Multi-Layer Client-Server System Simplified #NTierArchitecture
Hello everyone
In this video, we explore N-Tier Architecture, a flexible and scalable approach to client-server system design.
What is N-Tier Architecture?
N-Tier Architecture splits an application into **multiple layers** (more than three), each responsible for a specific part of the system:
Presentation Layer: User interface (web, mobile apps)
Business Logic Layer: Processes requests and applies rules
Data Layer: Stores and retrieves information
Additional Layers: Could include caching, API gateways, authentication, or microservices
This design makes systems scalable, maintainable, and easy to extend.
How it Works:
- Client sends a request → passes through multiple layers
- Each layer handles its responsibility
- Response is returned to the client after processing through all layers
Advantages of N-Tier Architecture:
✔ Highly scalable and modular
✔ Easier maintenance and upgrades
✔ Enhanced security by separating layers
✔ Supports complex enterprise applications
✔ Facilitates team collaboration (different teams manage different layers)
Examples:
- Large e-commerce platforms
- Banking and financial applications
- Enterprise ERP systems
- Multi-service web applications
