Jaz Makadi Aquaviva 5* SPLASHWORLD - Makadi Bay, Hurghada, EGYPT

POSITIVES
1. Jaz Makadi Aquaviva gives you free entry to the massive waterpark just to the side of the hotel, with 50 slides there is something for everyone.
2. The hotel has four pools, and a nearby 18-hole golf course and with 487 rooms i found this not too big with all amenities easily reached.
3. There is a Free shuttle bus to the beach daily from the front of reception. The beach is great with an all inclusive bar and the lunch choice was good. They bring you drinks to your sunbed and the snorkelling reefs are really good.
4. Activities like Aqua Aerobics, Darts, Water Polo and Table Tennis
5. Spa is lovely and the massage i had was really good
6. Popcorn and crisps for the kids in the evening and icecream available

NEGATIVES
1. Unfortunately, i felt very let down by the food quality and a la carte restaurant availability and general speed of drink service.
2. First Choice advertises 7 restaurants at Madinat Makadi Bay, Reservations should be made first with your hotel receptionist - However you can only visit one a la carte restaurant per stay and within this hotel there are only 2 plus the standard buffet
3. The buffet is busy, noisy and chaos!
4. They will not allow you to get a drink at the bar in the evening and make you sit to be served at your table....it takes forever (make sure you order 3 drinks at once!)
5. The waiter service around the pool is a nice touch but be prepared to wait 37 minutes for a drink (that's actually how long it took!)
6. Poor evening entertainment
7. Pool snack bar food is chips, burger and pizza (some fresh salad, grilled chicken would improve this)

Overall.....good clean modern accommodation, lovely pool scene and good option to go to the beach. Food is edible and not terrible but not 5*. They need to orgainse the buffet better and allow guests to easily book the a la carte restaurants.
