3 Alexi Laiho Licks From 2007

Here's the next episode of Three-For-All with 3 Alexi Laiho Licks From 2007. When I heard the news yesterday about Alexi's passing it hit me and I instantly time-traveled back to the early 2000s when I was first introduced to Children Of Bodom through the students I was teaching at that time.

That introduction, combined with seeing his lessons and music covered in Guitar world magazine helped put his name and music on my map, and I finally saw Children Of Bodom live in 2009 when they were touring with Lamb Of God. The concert was great and I totally left the venue a Bodom fan.

This lesson features some interesting footage from 2007 when Alexi was recording his parts for the nearly-forgotten 'Guitar Heroes' album from that year. The footage features him shredding through various licks and ideas as he was fleshing out his song 'Sioux City Sarsparilla' - which is where the licks and ideas shared in this lesson came from. Some of the ideas featured in this lesson include a great picking/fretting workout using the song's main riff, an intervallic tapping idea, a slick string skipping phrase, and more!
