Different Types of Nurses (and salary)

ADN VS BSN

BSN education includes more topics like nursing leadership, ethics, public health, heath informatics and legalities.

Typically magnet certified facilities requires RNs to have their BSNs but it has been a lot of changes due to the pandemic

RNs with BSN have more career opportunities in nursing management, case management, public health, and clinical research.

Good things to Remember

Task can be delegated down the ladder but not up the ladder, meaning even though it may be the CNA's duty a LPN, RN or even NP can take a patient to the restroom or feed them their meals. On the other hand a LPN or RN cannot write prescriptions or diagnose patients.

If a task is delegated patient overall safety is a priority and an incomplete task must be completed. For example 30 minutes ago you gave a patient Tylenol in aims to decrease their temperature, and delegated to the CNA to recheck. The time comes but at this time the CNA is helping another patient, it is still your responsibility to obtain it, in case further interventions need to be made.

From CNA to APRN nurses are some of the most amazing ppl I’ve met. Don’t let education fool you experience is just as important, a LPN can be more knowledgeable that a new APRN. Respect should be given across the board. Thank you so much for watching!
