Operation Watch Tower Afghanistan 2011

In March of 2011 my Plt took part in Operation Watchtower, a multi-battalion operation in the Shinghazi region of Helmand province Afghanistan. The area was believed to be a staging ground for anti-coalition forces. Our platoon was tasked with setting up screen lines in different areas of the region throughout the operation. We were plagued by the terrain in the area and constantly being delayed from stuck vehicles. Spending countless days living out of vehicles, our number one enemy turned out to be boredom.
