Bang The Drum Slowly

Bang the Drum Slowly is a 1973 American @orts_film @ama_film directed by @hn_D._Hancock,
about a baseball player of limited intellect who has a terminal
illness, and his brainier, more skilled teammate. It is a film
adaptation of the 1956 @ng_the_Drum_Slowly by American author @rk_Harris_%28author%29. It was previously dramatized in 1956 on the @S._Steel_Hour with @ul_Newman, @bert_Salmi and @orge_Peppard.
This version stars @chael_Moriarty and a then little known @bert_De_Niro as baseball teammates. De Niro's performance in this film and in @an_Streets, released two months later, brought him widespread acclaim.
