神奈川DeepSpot ドヤ街 寿町(日本三大ドヤ街の一つ)

横浜市には日本三大ドヤ街の一つの寿町(ことぶきちょう)があります。
ドヤ街(ドヤがい)とは、宿（ヤド）の逆さことばであり、日雇い労働者向けの簡易宿所が多く立ち並んでいる街のことで、ここの寿町の他に、東京の山谷、大阪のあいりん地区( https://youtu.be/5hFpkss_1Xg ) が日本三大ドヤ街と言われています。

寿町は戦前、横浜大空襲により一帯が焼け野原になっています。
その後、1950年の朝鮮戦争により米軍の軍需輸送が増えたことがきっかけで大勢の労働者が集まってくるようになり活気がある街になっています。
その後のバブル崩壊により衰退し、労働者の街から福祉の街に変わっていっています。
そして、ホームレスなどが増えていき、やがては寿町の8割が生活保護受給者になったとも言われています。
そんな生活保護者から金を搾り取るように喫茶店やスナックといったところでひっそりと違法賭博が行われていたり、すぐ近くにも大きなボートレース場外舟券売り場が建てられ、寿町のシンボルにもなっています。
簡易宿所は1箔1800円からとかなりの低価格で、若いバックパーカー等でも人気があり、また他のお店を営んでいる人の多くは出稼ぎに来た韓国人だったりと色々ある寿町を散策してみました。
