3 Signs You're Spiritually DEAD! — Ted Shuttlesworth Jr. // Truth For Life #53

Have you ever noticed that some Christians are full of joy and seem to be blessed all the time while others are always dejected, depressed, and critical? Here are three signs that you're spiritually dead.

1. Things that are dead don't make any noise. There's a very specific kind of noise that God wants to hear from His children. It's the sound of thanksgiving and praise. When we praise God, He inhabits our praises (Psalm 22:3).

Moaning and complaining are two things that will hold you back from God's blessings and are a sign you're immature and spiritually dead. Spend time giving God thanksgiving and praise no matter how you feel.

2. If you're dead, you're not hungry and there's no need to eat. People who are alive and well in the Body of Christ are hungry. In fact, these are the people who receive blessings (Matthew 5:6).

We should be hungry to read the Bible on a daily basis. God's Word is the fuel for increase in our lives. We should be hungry to pray and talk to God. This is where we get fresh instruction for life. Finally, we should be hungry to go to church every time we have the opportunity. God ordained church for the growth of His children.

3. Things that are dead don't grow. There are two types of growth that are very important to every believer. The first type of growth you must have is personal spiritual growth. The Apostle Paul was frustrated with the Christians in Greece because they remained immature in their faith (1 Corinthians 3:1-2).

One sign that you're maturing spiritually is that you can receive correction without becoming offended. We must work to mature and not remain "newborn Christians" forever.

Next, we should expect Kingdom growth. This takes place as a result of Christians who are spiritually alive dedicating themselves to winning souls and bringing people to Jesus. Our churches will grow and God's purpose will be accomplished on the earth.

I encourage you to apply this checklist to your life and decide that you will never be dead.
