The Clown in the Circus

About forty years ago, I was in Halifax on business and returned quite late to my hotel room. I flipped on the TV and there was an elderly British gentleman with a white hair and a white beard being interviewed. There was something compelling about him and I watched as the most amazing story I have ever heard unfolded. Years went by, but the story stuck with me and a few years ago a friend had occasion to ask Scotland Yard for verification. We were informed that the story was indeed true.
