How to test ignition coil!! No special tools!!!

In this video I demonstrate how to test an electronic controlled ignition coil found on many combustion engines. This can be useful to rule out whether you have a faulty coil, or other issue in the system. This particular coil is on a yamaha 4 wheeler, however the principle applies to all capacitive discharge ignition coils.

No special tools are needed, just a 12v dc power source or battery, a few wires and the original spark plug can be used. I have an adjustable spark gap tester, however just a plug that is grounded to the same source as the coil will work as well.
