Vogville Presents - " THE MATINEE" by Gene Greenwood

Vogville Recording is pleased to launch Vogville Presents, a monthly video series on Vogville.com documenting the unique stories of select musicians.

Each webisode of Vogville Presents is shot in a single day as a chosen band is ushered into Vogville Recording to cut a track with a seasoned producer. The series will combine a documentary filmmaking style with raw musical performance footage to highlight the personality of today's industry bright spots inside a respected studio setting.

For future episodes of Vogville Presents, musical acts from across North America will be hand-picked by Jonathan Fluevog after they've applied for consideration on Vogville.com.

The first instalment of Vogville Presents covers The Matinée, a BC-based roots rock sextet whose song "L'Absinthe" will serve as the musical backdrop of the video while behind-the-scenes footage, touring clips and interviews with the band members will reveal the essence of the group itself.

Being chosen as the debut headliners for Vogville Presents is another high point for The Matinée following a banner year in which they performed at the Olympic Men's Hockey Bronze Medal Game at Rogers Arena and were nominated for the prestigious BCCMA Award as Best Roots Artist. The Matinée were recently signed by Simkin Artist Management -- home to Carly Rae Jepsen and The Zolas -- and are current contenders in The PEAK Performance Project 2011.
