Grace & Joseph - A 1916 Love Story (Lifford Youthreach)

As part of the Easter 1016 centenary celebrations, Lifford Youthreach decided to recreate the love story of Joseph Plunkett (one of the Easter 1916 Proclamation signatories) and Grace Gifford. Following the surrender of those involved in the Rising, Plunkett was held in Kilmainham Gaol, and faced a court martial. Seven hours before his execution by firing squad at the age of 28, he was married in the prison chapel to his sweetheart Grace Gifford. The film was shot on location in Lifford Courthouse with Rainey Day Productions.
