BMWLogicSeven 90C Thermostat Test for BMW N62 Engine - Part 1

I've taken a 90 degree C rated thermostat sold and modified by BMWLogicSeven.com and placed it in a pan of boiling water. The water temp measures 96.7 C, but the K-type thermocouple reads about 1 C low, so actual water temp is ~97.7 C. This first stage of opening allows some flow to the radiator and some flow through the bypass back to the engine. I will attempt a 2nd test with higher temp water to see if the thermostat will open fully. Normal (un-modified) thermostats by Mahle open at 105 C.
