Joe Swanberg Films Chicago
If filmmaking in Chicago is having a renaissance, one of the people most responsible is Joe Swanberg. Since 2005, the indie filmmaker has averaged at least one feature a year and recently launched the Netflix series Easy. Swanberg’s casts feature a rising generation of stars, including Jake Johnson, Anna Kendrick, Greta Gerwig, and Marc Maron, mingling with real Chicagoans in some of the city’s most beloved neighborhoods and cultural scenes. Never has the city looked so real. Join Swanberg for a review of his career and what’s to come.
