In 2018, British model Chloe Ayling talked to 60 Minutes about what really happened when she was kidnapped by members of the Black Death Group after she was lured to Milan under the guise of a photoshoot. Her story was met with public doubt and criticism, with many suspecting it was a publicity stunt, even years after her abductors were sent to prison.

In 2025, Ayling revealed she had been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, a condition that affects how she communicates. She believes this explains why her reactions to certain things were misunderstood, and why many doubted her story.
