"An oasis in the city": The Birmingham allotment helping people get through lockdown | ITV News
During the lockdowns allotments have been one place where most plot holders were able to visit as usual, growing their own and pottering around the potting sheds in the fresh air - a welcome break from life in the pandemic.
Two years ago, Walsall road allotments in Perry Barr in Birmingham which are right next to the Alexander stadium, were under threat. After a huge campaign spearheaded by Robert the allotment cat, Betty and the allotment owners, the site was saved. In the first of a new series I've been digging into life there, to see what makes them so special.
