Who is Ghulam Ali?
Ustad Ghulam Ali (born December 5, 1940) is a renowned Pakistani ghazal singer of the Patiala Gharana, celebrated for his mastery in blending Hindustani classical music with ghazals. His unique style and emotive renditions have earned him a prominent place in the music world, both in South Asia and among the global South Asian diaspora.

🎤 Early Life and Training
Born in Kalekay Nagra, near Sialkot (then British India, now Pakistan), Ghulam Ali hailed from a musically inclined family. His father, Daulat Ali, was a vocalist and sarangi player who introduced him to music at an early age. At 15, Ghulam Ali became a disciple of the legendary Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, a master of the Patiala Gharana. Due to Bade Ghulam Ali Khan's busy schedule, Ghulam Ali received training from his uncles—Barqat Ali Khan, Mubarak Ali Khan, and Amanat Ali Khan—in Lahore.

🎶 Career Highlights
Radio Debut: Ghulam Ali began his professional singing career in 1960 with Radio Lahore.

Bollywood Breakthrough: He gained wider recognition with the ghazal "Chupke Chupke Raat Din" in the 1982 Bollywood film Nikaah.
