NIPS Students Participate in World Refugee Day Awareness Program at IUST

Awantipora, June 17: ACITE IDEA Lab, in collaboration with the CIED-IUST Foundation, observed World Refugee Day by organizing a special awareness programme on the theme “Technology for Inclusion” at the IUST Innovation Campus, Awantipora.

The event focused on the transformative role of technology and innovation in promoting inclusion, empowerment, and equal opportunities for displaced and marginalized communities. Students from National Innovations Public School (Senior Secondary), Zainapora, Shopian actively participated in the programme and engaged in meaningful discussions on how digital technologies can help address social challenges and improve access to education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Tahir Showkat Bazaz, Assistant Manager, CIED-IUST Foundation, highlighted the importance of technology as a catalyst for social change, emphasizing its potential to bridge inequalities and create sustainable pathways for inclusive development.

During the session, participants were introduced to innovative technological solutions and entrepreneurial initiatives that have positively impacted vulnerable communities across the world. Students were encouraged to think creatively and contribute towards building a more inclusive, resilient, and equitable society.

The programme reflected the commitment of ACITE IDEA Lab and the CIED-IUST Foundation to fostering innovation, social responsibility, and community development through technology and entrepreneurship. The event also provided an enriching learning experience for the participating students, inspiring them to explore technology-driven solutions for social good.
