🇺🇸 Where I ate (and sipped) in New Orleans, Louisiana

I can safely say I did not have a bad foodie experience in New Orleans. Seafood features heavily on their menus. And taking a food + cocktail tour with Doctor Gumbo gave us the backstory. We learnt about Creole culture, the holy trinity in cooking, and the African & Indigenous roots of the city while snacking our way through the French Quarter.

PLACES TO EAT
🦐 Red Fish Grill — classic shrimp gumbo + a hurricane is a perfect combo
🍤 Bourbon House — shrimp remoulade, Louisiana crab claws Bordelaise, plus a little coastal restoration love
🥪 Napoleon House — muffuletta in a historic spot once offered as refuge to Napoleon himself
🦀 Otis Seafood House — Jumbo crab cakes paired with a glass of white wine was delish

BREAKFAST
🥐 Ruby Slippers — homemade beignets, fried green tomatoes, banana fosters French toast
🍄‍🟫 Bear Cat — wholesome or naughty, your choice; the mushroom toast was so good

🍸 Peychaud’s at The Celestine — sip French 75s + Sazeracs in the courtyard to hide from the madness
