How to cook S'mores and Nachos in a DIY Solar Oven!
What's better than cooking nachos and s'mores for lunch? Doing it with zero electricity!! :D Yaas!
This solar oven is super easy to make with things from around the home, and can get to at least 60°C (140°F) on a sunny 30°C (86°F) day :) The black card in the oven absorbs sunlight, getting warmer and heating up the air around it. The shiny paper around the box reflects even more sunlight into the oven to speed this up.
Try experimenting with the angle of the reflective paper and the box, to see what lets the most sunlight into the oven. If you have a thermometer, see how warm you can get it!
Note: you should only use this box for making s'mores and nachos (corn chips, salsa and cheese). Most other foods need to be heated to much hotter than 60°C (140°F), so this oven won't work for them.
