The Manhattan Project Physicist Who Handed Stalin The Atomic Bomb 🕵️

Klaus Fuchs was a German born physicist who worked at the heart of the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos. He helped design the implosion bomb tested at Trinity in July 1945. The whole time, he was passing the Soviet Union the most closely guarded secret of the war. He handed over the exact bomb design, and the first Soviet atomic test in 1949 was a near copy of the American device. British investigators, helped by the decrypted Venona cables, finally caught him. He confessed in 1950 and was sentenced to fourteen years.
