Now, let’s move on to 2 awesome tricks, DJ Snake does, when he DJs.

The first one involves using loops and the volume fader.

So this is a pretty creative and technical DJ trick, that may look complicated but is actually quite simple to do.

What it involves are 3 things:

1. Loop Preparation 2. Volume Cutting 3. Loop Releasing

So the first thing you want to do is find a song that has a monotone breakdown,

Once you find that song, locate a section in it where you want your trick to finish on

So we want the trick to finish here, let’s make a 4 beat loop right before we reach this section.

Now we are ready to try this routine. So with our loop set to active, let’s play our song,

Once we get close to the loop, activate an Echo Effect on it, then when you reach the loop, get musical and start cutting the loop with your volume fader.

Once you’re done cutting the loop, simply deactivate the loop and echo effect, to let your song progress further.

The 2nd trick involves using the Echo effect to hype up his tracks.

That Echo sound is a signature Echo Effect used by a lot of EDM DJs like Martin Garrix, but the thing about this “Echo Effect Accent Trick”, is that it can only be properly done, on DJ equipment with a Time Knob like the XDJ-XZ, DJM Series and other high end mixers.

Don’t worry though. In this explanation, I’m gonna show you guys how to do this “Echo Effect Accent Trick” on DJ equipment with and without a Time Knob.

So let’s begin on how to do this trick on a controller without a Time Knob like this DDJ-400.

Keep in mind though, that this trick isn’t going to sound perfect, but it will sorta simulate the effect.

So the first thing you want to do is set your Echo Effect to 1/16, then set your Effect BPM Setting from Auto to Tap.

Setting it to Tap will enable you to manually input your desired Effect BPM.

Next, before you play your song, trigger the Tap button as fast as you can, with the goal to reach a BPM Higher than 500, on your Effect BPM Counter.

Doing this will simulate the Time Knob reaching 1 MS.

Then with your track playing, activate your echo effect, and bring the Level/Depth Knob to the right side to hear that signature “Echo Effect Accent”

The best way to implement this effect is to use it to accent EDM Build Ups.

Now for you guys who are lucky enough to have DJ equipment with Time Knobs, the procedure is a lot simpler.

So with your Echo Effect set to 1/16, simply turn your Time Knob all the way to the left side, till you see the MS knob indicate 1.

Then simply activate your echo effect and bring the Level/depth knob to the right side to hear that Echo Effect Accent
