$150 Amico Stick Welder~3 Years Experience

Feb 2017 I bought a cheap Amico stick welder from Amazon -- still have it as of Jan 2020. There wasn't many reviews back in 2017, but now it seems there are lots of satisfied Amico welder owners -- add me to the list.

The welding table I made from a set of Edsal bench legs under $40 from Amazon (came as a set of 2). Welded rebar across the top (the straightest pieces I could find). Think I made that over 2 years ago & it still gets used frequently. I'm careful to lay stuff on it easy so the rebar doesn't get bent. I like it because it's light & can easily move in & out of my welding shed. I'll be making a better welding table for inside the shed & leaving the rebar table outside -- occasionally spray painting to keep rust away. Looked for those legs to see what the current price is in 2020 -- over $100! Wow, must be the tariffs/trade war causing the price inflation.

These machines can vary in quality, but the one I received has been awesome. Didn't need anything fancy, just something that could burn 6010 electrodes, since that is what I have strictly used. Plan on branching out to other electrodes (want to learn how to weld cast iron) once I'm done with my main tool shed. My welding shed has been a lower priority, but is on my list to finish this year.
