The Year That Garfield Took Over Kennywood

Somebody thought this was a good idea. Kennywood is no stranger to licensed properties now that the park has Thomas Town and Steelers Country, but in the early 2000s they struck a deal to incorporate Garfield characters into the park. Beginning with a simple overlay for the park's children's area, Garfield soon took over one of the most beloved attractions in the park, and to most, ruined it. You won't find evidence of Garfield's presence in the park anymore, but in 2004 Kennywood was betting on the success of this license. Needless to say, it didn't pay off.
