The Pulse Survey Mistake That Kills Response Rates

When employees fill out a survey and nothing changes, they stop filling out surveys. That's not an engagement problem — it's a pulse survey design problem.
A pulse survey isn't a happiness check. It's an early warning system: three to five questions, every two to four weeks, with a visible response that shows the team their answers actually went somewhere. Skip that last part and response rates collapse. And a pulse survey filled with dishonest answers is worse than no survey at all — you start making decisions based on data that isn't real.
