‘Local council have no right’: Cumberland Council slammed for no-notice treaty push
One Nation Chief of Staff James Ashby has slammed the Cumberland Council for attempting to push through an Indigenous treaty in a meeting with no notice to its councillors whatsoever.
“Local council have no right to enter this type of politics,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“At the end of the day, council are there to service roads, rates, and rubbish.
“They were going well and truly beyond the scope of what council should be doing.
“As far as I’m concerned, native title is extinguished right across the majority of Sydney.”
