Demolition Begins At Calangute’s Nazri Beach Resort Following SC Order

Authorities on Tuesday began demolishing unauthorized portions of the Nazri Beach Resort at Naikawaddo, Calangute, in compliance with a Supreme Court directive. Heavy machinery was brought in and the operation was carried out under the supervision of government officials.
The action targets structures allegedly constructed in violation of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) norms, including a multi-storey building that has been at the centre of a long-running legal battle. The demolition process is expected to continue until all structures covered under the court order are removed.
