Francis Fukuyama is the Olivier Nomellini Senior Fellow at Stanford University’s Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies. He has written on democratization and international political economy, most popularly ‘The End of History and the Last Man’ and ‘Identity’. In our conversation with Francis Fukuyama at #MSC2020, he explains how he now contemplates the end of history and why the search for recognition is central to the crisis of the West.
