Last Flight of the Spiteful - The ultimate Spitfire recovered
On the 13 September 1944 Test Pilot Frank Furlong was killed when he lost control of the prototype aircraft he was flying. The aircraft, top secret at the time, was a development of the Spitfire the Supermarine Spiteful. No reason for the crash was officially established.
65 years later parts of the aircraft were recovered. Tony Dyer visited the WW2 Aircraft crash site to investigate.
