Cycling Vlog - My Abrupt Wake Up Call
Time has a funny way of jumping up and biting you on the bum!
A few weeks ago I signed up to ride one of my favourite cycling events of the year; the Isle Of Wight Randonnee.
The ride itself is pretty tough; 100kms around the island and quite a lot of climbing. I rode the event last year and found it hard, even though I had had some on the bike training.
This year I have promised myself to not only ride it again but to ride it faster and feel better at the end. So far I have been doing a fair bit of indoor cycling such as Zwift and some spinning classes but, up until now, the weather has been a little too cold to actually get out on the road on a real road bike to do some proper cycling.
That all changed this week. I initially took my bike out of the garage and decide to cycle down to Hayling Island for a short ride. Feeling pretty fit, the next day, I decided to take on a slightly more challenging route with a few more hills to test my fitness and my climbing legs.
This is how I got on.
