In this episode we are delighted, honoured and humbled to welcome Ed O’Brien to the show. Ed is a founding member of Radiohead, one of the world’s most creative and genre defining – and defying – bands in recent history.
The show is predominantly an interview, covering the early days of Ed’s playing life, Radiohead’s inception and ethos as a band, all interwoven with Ed’s philosophy and approach as a musician. There’s a little bit of playing, not a huge amount – Ed is one of those players who eschews endless riffs, licks and showboating in favour of textures, tones and layers that serve the song. It’s very hard to do out of context!
