Today I'm going to talk about 5 countries that have become extremely popular among Digital Nomads. At the moment these 5 countries are booming!

The first one is Mexico! Many of our friends and clients decided to relocate to Mexico. Even though many people think of violence and crime when they think about this country, this is actually a very popular place to relocate nowadays. This country has been very open in the previous year and remains so in 2021, and this is probably one of the factors that are drawing people towards Mexico. However, that's just one of the many reasons. People LOVE Mexico, they like living there. Mexico just offers so much! Also, safety doesn't seem to be a big concern for ex-pats at all.

The second country on the list is Portugal. It is not surprising and we've already talked a lot about Portugal. Portugal gives you the access to the EU, it's a Schengen country.
You can get non-habitual tax residency, which is a decent option for many. There is a possibility of getting their passport after living in the country for some time. They also offer the opportunity of obtaining a golden visa.

The next country is certainly expected - Thailand. A place that ex-pats have always loved. This has been one of the few countries in the region that remained somewhat open for foreigners, unlike Malaysia and Indonesia that have been very strict and closed. Taxes are also good, so in combination with great weather, low prices, tropical beaches, and bustling cities it doesn't surprise that Thailand is on the top of the list for nomads to come and stay.

The fourth country on our list is the UAE. Digital nomads and entrepreneurs are located mostly in Dubai. Numerous clients of ours have moved to Dubai in a previous couple of months and many more are telling us that this is in their cards for the near future. To be completely honest with you this is the option that I'm considering as well. My original idea was to relocate to Malaysia in 2020 or 2021, however, I don't see this being possible in the near future. Therefore I'm seriously considering Dubai for 2021. One important thing to note - UAE is truly a ZERO tax country which is more than appealing to us. I have seen many wealthy individuals relocating to UAE, there is no country that is even a close comparison. Rich people just love UAE, and it is not surprising at all. This is English speaking, first world country, that offers everything imaginable while being a true tax haven. Win-Win.

The last country on this list is Colombia. This is certainly a surprise to many people. However, I can definitely see more and more people being interested in and moving to Colombia. It stands very strongly next to Mexico, even though tax situation is not as good.
