Peru's Congress advances constitutional changes, risking judicial & electoral independence

Peru's Congress has been voting on a series of controversial laws, which critics say will fast-track its authoritarian power.
The new legislation would eliminate key judicial bodies, and reduce the independence of electoral authorities. Rights groups are warning that Peru's democracy is in danger.
