PDP Leads Protest in Madwan, Questions Government Over Lack of Basic Facilities.

Bandipora, June 19: Residents of the Madwan area in Bandipora on Friday staged a protest against the alleged lack of basic civic amenities in the locality. The protest was led by PDP Youth Secretary North Kashmir Mudasir Bhat, accompanied by Hajin Youth President Inayat Hajni and other party leaders.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, Mudassir Bhat expressed serious concern over the neglect of the area despite the presence of the NTPC Madwan project, which has been under development for nearly two decades. He said it was unfortunate that the local population continues to face acute shortages of essential services, particularly access to clean drinking water.

Bhat criticized the concerned Authorities and the local MLA, stating that residents have repeatedly raised their grievances over the years, but their concerns have largely remained unaddressed. He said the continued deprivation of basic facilities raises serious questions about the commitment of the authorities towards the welfare of the people.

Locals requested the LG administration to immediately address the problems faced by the residents, ensure the supply of safe drinking water, and take necessary measures to make the NTPC Madwan project fully functional for the benefit of the local population.
