General Availability -Azure Kubernetes Service Istio Service Mesh Add-on

The Istio-based Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) addon for service mesh is now widely accessible. Istio can be used to simplify traffic management, security, and observability for scenarios involving service-to-service communication. It also tackles the difficulties that developers and operators encounter when working with distributed or microservices architectures.

The open source Istio is the foundation for the AKS addon for service mesh, which offers extra features like managed external/internal ingresses, minor/patch version upgrades, compatibility testing between Istio and supported versions of AKS, and scaling of Istio control plane components.
