ABOUT THIS VLOG:

➡ After having lived in Portugal for six months, we figured it was time for a proper walk-through of the cost of living in Portugal. We didn't want to do this video before we felt that we had a good grasp on what everything costs.

In many ways Portugal is really cheap, but at the same time Portugal can be quite expensive. Portugal is super cheap when it comes to eating out on restaurants, enjoying wine and beer at bars, having your morning coffee and getting around Lisbon with an uber. It's also fairly cheap to grocery shop, unless you are the type of person who wants organic products only. If so, you can multiply the ordinary price with 3-4.
Cost of living in Portugal is particularly high when the subject falls on rent in Lisbon, which is the main attraction for expats moving to Lisbon. These days you won't get very much apartment for 2.000€. An example is our apartment, which we pay 2.500€ a month and that is excluding electricity, gas, water and internet.
In many ways the cost of living in Portugal is up to you. Do you want to live the luxury life or do you want to live a modest, but comfortable life?
