Here's another track from 'Erotic Cakes,' and it's the fabulous song 'Fives.'
I think it's the first video I saw of Guthrie on Jam Track Central, and I was blown away by the speed, the feel, and how he was navigating through the neck
Then I watched another 'Fives' video, and he played another marvelous solo, but not with the same notes. I couldn't believe it 🙃
After that, I realized he always improvises his solos, and that motivated me to do the same thing.
I spent so much time practicing this solo section; it helped me practice both my Dorian and Lydian modes, as well as my 5/4 time signature.
Anyway, it's a super fun song.
I kind of shred a lot on this one 😆.
