Sign language

A Belfast man who has been profoundly deaf since birth has said that he hopes his new initiative to help the public learn sign language while waiting in queues will make the city more accessible for the deaf community.

Anthony Sinclair, who runs sign language business Sign Source, recently launched an initiative to introduce learning resources into venues across Belfast.

These signs, pamphlets, stands and coffee cup holders aim to teach members of the public how to sign their name using the British Sign Language (BSL) alphabet and a QR code which opens a video to learn some signed greetings and phrases.
