Teri Polo: ‘Mystery Date’ (1991)

Shy teenager Tom McHugh worships his sexy neighbor Geena Matthews (Played by Teri), who lives across the street. When Tom's parents leave town, and his criminally entangled older brother Greg shows up, pretends to be Tom and arranges a mystery date for him with Geena. Then he gives Tom a crash course in coolness and gives him a credit card with the assurance that he can use it anywhere. Greg's generosity is really a means of establishing an alibi for himself for stealing a priceless vase across town, to frame the local branch of the Chinese mafia. His scheme backfires, when Tom takes Greg's convertible for his date. An undercover cop recognizes the convertible and follows the couple.

Mistaking Tom for his older brother, the policeman tries to arrest him while Geena is in the restroom. In a freak accident, the policeman is killed. Tom is completely innocent, but he panics and stuffs the cop into his trunk, just seconds before she returns. Tom searches for his brother while trying to keep Geena from knowing there is a dead policeman in their trunk. Tom and Geena are then chased by the angry Chinese mafia. Tom can't keep the secret from her any longer. Shortly after revealing his secret, Geena is captured, and Tom and Greg must rescue her.
