D-Day 79, Normandy, June '23, Day 01.

We set off for Dublin on June 1st 2023 to catch the overnight ferry to Cherbourg just as we did the previous year, This time we want to immerse ourselves in the whole D-Day commemoration atmosphere, probably more observation than participation, but we have heard so much about how intense the French are about their liberation from German occupation that we felt the need to go back. Hopefully I've learned something more about film-making since last year as well as I see loads of room for improvement when I look back at earlier attempts (audio problems ranking high on the list!). Hopefully you'll notice a difference but be warned, some of the forthcoming videos could end up being upwards of an hour long. The reason for this is that I make these videos first and foremost as reminders and memories of our trips together as husband and wife. That will mean that there will be footage that I'm reluctant to just dump and will include it in the videos if I see fit.Having said that there is no law that says you have to watch them all in one go!
