Death by nature is the norm for homeless people without shelter.
Rain is majestic. It brings a sense of renewal and freshness, leaving the air cleaner and landscapes more vibrant. To some, it’s calming. For others, like homeless communities, the rain is deadly. Without access to essential information like weather reports, rain can rob homeless individuals of vital possessions such as IDs and life-saving medication, pushing many deeper into homelessness. For some, the rain can even mean death as their makeshift homes can’t save them from freezing temperatures. Implementing a “housing first” approach is a sustainable solution that can save lives and end homelessness.
