Affinity Photo Frequency Separation for Landscape Photography

Today I look at how to use Affinity Photo for Frequency Separation. I demonstrate how to use the Frequency Separation on Landscape Photography to sharpen your photos and create an impressive Orton effect. The Orton effect is a popular technique amongst Landscape Photographers, used to make your photos glow.

If you’re using Affinity Photo to process your landscape photography, creating a frequency separation is even easier. There’s a dedicated filter in Affinity Photo that does most of the work for you. All you need to do is select the best radius for the effect you want to apply. If you want to sharpen your photos use a small radius in the 4-8 pixel range (higher resolution cameras need a higher radius). If you want to apply the Orton effect use a higher radius of 20-40 pixels (again, higher resolution cameras need a higher radius).
