Mister Monkey, Pitstop 2 Commodore 64 racing video game.

Mister Monkey is playing the Pitstop II C64 game once again, and trying to remember all the best tips for winning.

The same type of game as Pitstop, and also completely different and revised.

The pits are very similar, different graphics, and only one tire change crewman compared to two in the first version of the game. Pitstop 1 had another pit guy to send you back to the track, but in Pitstop 2 there is nobody in that role and clicking on the vehicle driver makes you exit the pits.

The racing is certainly enhanced, with more realistic views and automobile handling.

The big advantage Pitstop 2 has over Pitstop is that two people can compete against each other on the same track. You would need two joysticks.

Still great fun with just the one player. Mister Monkey has a 9-lap race of Brands Hatch, and pit stop strategy is very important for the longest races, and then has a 3-lap race of Sebring.
Pitstop II tips:

- Figure out the best speeds for the corners. This is where the tire damage, and bumps with other vehicles, happen. Some corners will require a slight decrease to 240, others to 220, and a tight hairpin turn might be better at 200.
- Understand your fuel usage and how many laps you can complete without pitting. Different tracks have different lap distances.

- 5.2 miles Sebring

- 4.8 miles Hockenheim

- 4.36 miles Rouen Les Essarts

- 3.38 miles Watkins Glen

- 2.65 miles Brands Hatch

- 1.65 miles Vallelunga
- For those used to Pitstop and the pit lane on the right for that game, it is now on the left side of the track for Pitstop II.
- Once again, if you overfill your gas tank, you lose a lot of time, as you need to completely fill it once more.
- The front tires have a lot more damage than the rear ones. Different to Pitstop, where both front and rear would change colors together a lot.
- Start with short races and the easier difficulty level, then work your way up with longer races and more difficult settings.
- The tire color, indicating damage and wear, are very different on this game. Mister Monkey does have a short, explaining what colors the tires go through for both Pitstop and Pitstop II and then how your race is over.
